Akasa TIM-Clean Review
Today we look at the Akasa TIM-Clean product for cleaning the CPU die and the heatsink. Let me start off by thanking Adrian from Akasa for making this product review possible. There
has been a great debate on what solution should be the method of
cleaning thermal compounds and thermal pads off a CPU die and/or
CPU heatsink. Akasa is trying to fill in these lines and help everyone
out with this ongoing debate. There
is only 4 easy steps that you face when you use this product.
The mixture of the formula contains petroleum distillates and other special ingredients. Also just to mention, this is a citrus based solvent also, giving away a distinct Orange smell. A nice touch. Now your CPU can smell like Oranges! Testing and Conclusion I
have tested the Akasa TIM-Clean on a AMD XP CPU with Arctic Silver
3, white goo and pre-applied thermal compound. The Akasa worked
almost immediately when it touched the compound and cleaning was
surprisingly effortless. It also does not have
to be on for 1-2 minutes. All you have to do is put it on and leave
it for some seconds you choose and wipe off with a clean non-lint
material if you can. The AMD die was clean, even the engraved AMD
symbol was very clean, no evident compound was left behind. Using this on a heatsink fan base proved to be the same deal, Effortless! Everyone should have this product on their list. It makes life much easier and answers the CPU cleaning question. Great job AKASA Final rating : 10/10! Pros Cons +
